The Official Recipe for
Pacific Coast Wholesale Hardwood Distributors Association
~ Ramos Gin Fizz ~
It is most important that the instructions
be followed to the letter and in the proper order!
|
Step #1 - Selecting the Glass.
Use a large wine glass with approximately a three inch stem. It is important not to use too large a glass as the ice will melt before the drink
is finished, making it slurry and slushy, detracting from the frothy, fluffy
consistency that it should be. A glass that is too small is inconvenient
because it causes long lines waiting for a refill!
|
Step #2 - Preparing the Glass.
It is most important that the glass be chilled in a cooler at 36 degrees for at
least 60 minutes. A light mist may be on the glass, but not frozen water.
Moisten the rim of the glass with a lemon wedge and dip in powdered
sugar.
|
Step #3 - The ingredients.
| 2 teaspoons lemon juice
| | 1 ounce Gin (good brand) |
| 1 teaspoon lime juice
| | 1/2 teaspoon superfine sugar
|
| 1 egg white
| | 1/2 teaspoon orange flower water
|
| 2 tablespoons heavy cream
| | 4 to 6 ice cubes
|
|
Step #4 - Blending.
Pour all of the above into a blender in the order given. Blend at a medium
speed for 60 seconds.
|
Step #5 - Enjoy!
If all the above ingredients are used in the proper order given, a light, frosty, frothy drink will emerge that will delight all hardwood lumbermen early in the morning and make your whole day glow.
